Jesus is real we are living in the last days because no one believes in repenting to Jesus and giving up sin and making him Lord this is why were living in the last days and evil only runs this world because we rejected God; don't believe me Repent your sins at home in Private and you will see for your self that Jesus is real:)Realize that God gave us immune systems and also a connection to him through prayer don't poison yourself instead save yourself because nobody is fixing or saving anything!

like for climate, as long as we live in democracies with 4 years terms without anyway to really hold accountable the leaders, you will not have any change for they think in a 4 years time-line. Even 2 in the US with the midterms. It is time for humanity to remember it is part of Nature not its master.

    5. Richard Wong

was that virus voiced by fix-it felix? rofl

    6. sunalwaysshinesonTVs

IDK John. You've underplayed the truism, mother nature always wins, and from your presentation of all the stupid shit humans do and continue to do irrespective, perhaps we're destined for a population quelling pandemic, and it may be a good thing.... you know, in the very long run, after the species rebuilds itself from a few million.

    7. Jenn Nasby

Not sure if I should be laughing or crying. "Close down all wildlife markets", "Bad factory farming", "Stop eating meat", "Halt deforestation", "Shut down all state fairs" "Will never happen because it's too draconian". What is acceptable and not draconian though is locking down entire worldwide human populations forcing over 100 million people into severe poverty, drastically increasing depression and suicide, Decimating small business and entrepreneurs, drive an even larger gap between middle class and wealthy and oh maybe 100 other severe consequences of global draconian legislation against the most vulnerable of society. I guess what he's saying is that we could never force or expect drastic legislative measures taken against the powerful and wealthy but we can crush the vulnerable low and middle class societies with the same principles. When did globalization ever help the environment or the vulnerable in society? Nope I am sure, it's tears and not laughter.

    8. Miloo

As usual, no one mentions the root cause of all these problems: population growth!

World is overpopulated pandemics just natures way of trying to limit humans from destroying mother earth by overpopulation.

    32. WaterlooUploader

15:58 One of the ways to prevent the next pandemic is to "stop eating meat altogether." A small, but gradually increasing, number of individuals are doing just that. Whether or not all of society will make that transition is another matter. But I encourage everyone to consider that personal lifestyle and dietary change.

I just want COVID to be over dammit. It’s just a little cold and if you look at the rates of how many people died this year it’s not even that much. It’s even less then how many people died before COVID

    43. Stephen

What a douche, wtf is wrong with Salt Lake city? We have low DUI, Crime, and mormons are generally nice people.

      1. Ceadda

Leftists trash peaceful, successful cities, countries to advert attention from the hell holes of crime and immense homelessness they created with poor policies.

    44. paul ducharme

There really has never been any such thing as freedom on Earth. This being due to Humans being absolutely incapable of true reason and following the golden rule. If and when we rid it of thieves, rulers incapable of true leadership, killers, rapists, extortionists, prevaricators, pedophiles, war mongers, religious sycophants, destitution, disease, miseducation and you can add to this list if you wish. Note that destitution is about the only thing on this list that we can't find a politician who doesn't do. We've been waiting 3000 years for legitimacy in Government and still we get confusion, extortion, elitism, war mongering, pandering, victimizing, red tape, prevarication, separation, miseducation, malfeasance in health, perversion, etcetera, need I go on? You call me a nut as I am anarchist? I call you naïve and incapable of autodidactic reasoning. Yet you still actually believe they wouldn't lie about a pandenic? Prove me wrong!

    45. DonandShelley Clark

Wow! What a great show. Keep showing it once in awhile even when we are all vaccinated. We definitely need a reminder!

    46. Twilight Spakle

There won't be another virus but corona will be the next pandemic vaccines may not work already

    47. PGSawesome

Probably worth mentioning that the alternative to factory farming has a horrendous environmental record that makes factory farming look like the best thing since sliced bread.

    48. Ronin Jeremy

Great, let's never allow people to go back to work or have any diners with parents or children....only been a year since we have been on lockdown...sounds amazing. F**k Off

    49. Andrew

Covid-19 was nothing more than the common cold unless you had pre-existing. I know people with COPD, MS, and heart issues - they all survived. This video is 💯% cringe.

Goth mouse is the best description of a bat i have ever heard.

    57. Tony Majowicz

I think I would like to see him give up on comedy. I just want to watch the segment without the often painful attempts to be funny. Such great information that I think suffers from the juvenile jokes.

    58. Kly

John come on, don't put Matt on the same level as Trump, he didn't invent online social networking platforms or social media, he just made it popular. He isn't responsible for something that was inevitable just because he was the first person to be noticed, involved in an industry revolving around personal information and rights to privacy.

    59. Night Stick

Unfortuantely we really suck at long-term planning. It's like our species' kryptonite... It certainly doesn't help that absolutely everyone everywhere - myself included - keep thinking we need to get *back to normal* which is how we got here in the first place. It also doesn't help that some people with an incredible amount of money saw a gigantic increase in profits either. I'm just hoping that the all-consuming, crushing debt governments around the globe are facing might motivate them to make some small changes - though I doubt it will. It'd be great if we could come together as a species and work to stop us from annihilating ourselves, but unfortunately I don't think the world is ready to let go of the stupid idea of countries and borders yet. The issues we face now are global, we can't keep pretending that we're independant when anything anyone does can have such a global effect on the survival of humanity.

    60. Maria Vincelli

shut up John, you make too much money for spewing out garbage

    61. WouldButHeWouldnt

At this point in my life, I really didn't need to hear John Oliver say "jizzing."

    62. Sophisticated Chimp

What I've learned from watching countless John Oliver videos is that everything is on fire, the world is doomed and there's Jack shit I can do about it. Why do I keep subjecting myself to this?

    63. Kevin Dawson

The fact that conspiracy theories significantly contributed to the RØ and deaths in the US is not without consequences and sadly the LOSER is doing a victory lap for a vaccine he did NOTHING about except say we should have one then f*ck up the distribution.

    64. Dawn Hoffman

Viruses r man-made and it's not about mother nature or predicting viruses other than we were warned that vaccines are the way to depopulate as is the virus tho the vaccine will finish the game after one or two of those ..next is the little pink patch vaccine which contains the luciferace enzyme in it...hmm like u get it on your arm no pic just rub it for a second then peel off then your hand lights up under a light even from a cell phone u can see the mark on your hand thru a certain lens....this is all a part of Agenda 21...read it carefully or watch it carefully...it knew exactly what and when these things would happen to depopulate the world from eight billion to one billion. Plz don't take my word for this and check out the site I just gave you...it's an eye opener if u r still asleep and believe this nonsense...and do check out luciferace enzyme ...this is our future planned by the evil corrupt govts worldwide...to push in the New World Order.

To quote agent Smith "Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment; but you humans do not. Instead you multiply, and multiply, until every resource is consumed. ... There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern... a virus."

    68. zxKAOS1

Sad to hear we actually got luckier with COVID-19. If it were more deadly, large swaths of the US would've perished. Then again, those that deny COVID-19 is a threat probably would've taken THAT more seriously

    69. rmath176

      "Prevention is better than cure"

    70. Aella Lee

Thanks for summarizing my class on epidemics and plagues. Now I have a shortened version to send to nonbelievers. Yes the pandemic is beneficial to the rich, but it's a waiting game for epidemics. We have epidemics all over the world all of the time, and people are being stupid about animals and travel so why invest time and money into something that is definitely going to happen anyway.

    71. Pete UDOW

Except for bats are dying off, much like honey bees.

    74. None ofyaBiz

They collected the virus from the bats in caves, and played with it in the lab, then released - whether accidental or not! Why are scientist playing with these viruses instead of leaving well enough alone?

    75. Flight Therapy **BullisticFPV**

Seriously!? We had an insurrection and we are watching the growth of one of the biggest facist crisis cults on the planet and you did your first episode on the same thing you did like 5 episodes on last season?! Seems like a missed moment lol

    76. Aiden M-C

I’m very surprised that people don’t understand the consequences of not actively combatting a global pandemic such as Covid-19. While yes, you can ignore all the mandates handed out by government, it would be naive to think that you are “totally safe” just because you aren’t in hospice or are a senior. Covid-19 since Dec. 17th has become the leading cause of death in the US for anyone ages 45 and up. www.webmd.com/lung/news/20201217/covid-19-ranks-as-a-leading-cause-of-death-inus While yes, your age can play a role in the fatality of Covid, the risk of contracting the virus is the same for everyone. The issue for young people such as myself are the pre-existing medical conditions millions of people in the US and other countries have (Such as Diabetes, Obesity, Asthma, etc). Such health conditions make young people easy targets to die from Covid. www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/guidance-documents/people-with-disabilities.html#:~:text=The%20known%20underlying%20health%20conditions,a%20weakened%20immune%20system. Also, many young people are sure to experience chronic after effects and conditions as a result of contracting Covid. Covid can trigger numerous other deadly conditions that could most definitely leave even a young person dead. www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1240761 So yes, you are free to do what you want, you are free to “get back to your lives and leave us in the dust”. But people should be aware, you reap what you sow, and there’s a lot of acres left in the field

    79. Adam Patiño

Soooooo like how scared am i supposed to be, John? I know I'm not supposed to let animals bite me, this is all common sense

    80. Socij

I wish growing meat with out the animal would catch on. If you can grow just a stake, you save land, resources and save animals from suffering. Meat would become cheaper but be exactly the same. No more crulty, safer, less resorses used, this would be perfect. Let's just grow chicken breast in a lab!

      1. zijuiy wttuy

Salt Lake was a shithole before the Mormons decided that was the place that the rest of civilization wouldn't want to drive them away from.

In Philadelphia public schools they make a teacher Kiss a pig for a fund raiser. The level we reached in a society, that we make educators kiss pigs for money for their schools.

    83. Simon Worrall

overpopulation. There is a pandemic of humans.

    84. Jordan Thistle

People just don't realize how close we were to having a disease that is thousands of times more deadly and spreads at a ridiculously faster rate. This is known to most as Avian flu, known to some as "h5n1"( however there can be other forms of this like a newer form h5n8 ). This influenza is airborne and has a death rate of 60%.... to put that into perspective the sars cov-2 virus has a mortality rate of .03%. We were lucky that the spread human has experienced a few years ago wasn't as effective of transmission between humans. That being said it only take 1 mutation to charge that and make it more effective. Russia just confirmed a case of h5n8, we aren't sure how deadly this variant is, or if it has spread. Please be safe and remember to follow precautions, as these are the best ways to prevent the spread.

    85. JonnyOpinionated

Thank you to the following most american traits: capitalism, consumerism, entitlement, ignorance of facts, greed, poor education, poor healthcare, somehow making science politically divisive, imperialism, laziness, unwillingness to change.... what else did I miss?

    86. Cecutti P

Actually bats are in serious decline already. Their populations in NA have been significantly reduced in the past decade.

    87. max yu

You don't know where the CCP virus comes from?

    88. Robert T

Well under Obama they did introduce a pandemic response team in 2016.... So it's not like they weren't preparing. To bad it was disbanded and the team was moved into other offices.

    89. Marc MacKenzie

Was that virus voiced by Jack McBrayer (the page from "30 Rock")?

    90. tigress63

Maybe we need to limit births globally. Have a one child policy like China instituted years ago. If we don't do something like this the globe will be uninhabitable within 100 years.

    91. Mihad Alzayat

Watching John Oliver can only lead to a single logical conclusion: we’re doomed and there’s nothing we can do about it.

    92. Kurtis C.

Pre-viewing prediction: thanks to factory-farmed meat and other environmentally destructive activities, a lot sooner than you think. 😑

    93. jesse kl

I remember saying to myself a few years ago (after 3 flights in one day) : 'why the h is this so easy? They should like scan us or something.' I'm wondering if they will have stricter policies going forward..we don't need multiple pandemics or a super pandemic going around ..what with all the anti-vaxxers .nevermind all the deaths jfc

    94. One Love

The far left is the only thing that will cause the next pandemic.
